Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Joe’s initial exposure to night life began in his late teens, introducing him to the influential role of the party DJ. For Joe Bastidas his work as Chicago DJ began at the age of 21, but his fascination with DJ-ing started at 17. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Joe’s initial exposure to night life began in his late teens, introducing him to the influential role of the party DJ. Admiring the way that the DJs he experienced connected with the crowd, Joe knew what he wanted to pursue. DJ Profess learned the basics from a friend and from there began his career.
Stepping out into the city club and bar scene in his early 20s, DJ Profess met and learned from DJs around him including Sye Young, DJ Metro, and Rick Garcia. Finding his niche, DJ Profess learned what he loved to do, “I please the crowd. I am an open format DJ, so I literally can play everything; everything.”
With musical versatility that is scarcely unmatched, DJ Profess is set apart, but finds most satisfaction in his interaction with the crowd. “To be able to feel everyone’s vibe in the room,” is what he values most and because of that along with having a great time with what he does, DJ Profess is able to create prolific party experiences for any event at any venue.
